I am a certified childbirth educator offering independent childbirth education classes.  This is different from hospital childbirth classes because I am not limited by hospital policies, procedures, or politics.  I can teach classes based on facts as well as the classes individual emotional needs. Some of the topics covered are:

• Communicating with caregivers

• Importance of prenatal care

• Anatomy and physiology of pregnancy

• Stages of labor

• Mind body connection during labor and birth

• Psychological aspects of childbirth

• Standard childbirth procedures

• Natural and medical pain relief options

Class Options:

• Yoga Birth Method- This is a
  childbirth technique that incorporates the philosophy of yoga principles during labor to help to achieve a natural childbirth experience.

• Breastfeeding Class- Perfect for new moms or moms who are thinking about breastfeeding and have never done it before. Also a wonderful option for moms who are not sure if breastfeeding is right for them and are looking for more information. 
  

• 3 Week Class-This class meets for 3 hours once a week.  In this class we cover in depth the physical and psychological process of childbirth. 

• Weekend Intensive Class- This class meets on a weekend for 5 ½ hours it covers mostly options and decision making for labor and childbirth.  This class is designed for experienced parents who have prior childbirth and/or childbirth class experience. 

• Natural Childbirth Intensive Class- Recommended for women with prior or current attendance at a complete Childbirth class. This class can be in addition to other classes or taken by itself.  This 4 hour class covers specifically emotional and physical preparation for those planning a natural childbirth experience with few interventions and natural pain relief. 

I offer specialized childbirth education instruction to couples in there home.  I will tailor this instruction to the couples specific needs and time restraints.  Private instruction can be customized for:
